When does a windscreen need replacing?
A chip can be repaired while it is small (under about 3 cm) and outside the driver's line of sight. A crack, a larger chip, damage at the edge or right in front of the driver means replacement. We make the final call after seeing the glass – a photo on WhatsApp is enough for a first answer.
Which windscreen do we fit?
Glass made to the manufacturer's standard, bonded with structural adhesive, with a seal guarantee. Prefer original-brand glass? Just say so and we order it. To get exactly the right part – rain sensor, camera, head-up display, heating – a photo of the registration document is enough.
How long does it take?
Fitting takes about 90 minutes. The adhesive then needs to set: you can drive about an hour later. If your car has a driver-assistance camera, calibration follows at our workshop, usually the same or the next day.
At your door or at the workshop?
Both. Our technicians come anywhere in Luxembourg, all 12 cantons. In the rain we need a covered spot: garage, carport or car park. In cold weather we replace at the workshop because the adhesive needs warmth. Workshops: Roodt-sur-Syre and, by appointment, Bascharage.
What about the ADAS camera?
On cars with driver assistance, the camera behind the windscreen must be recalibrated after every replacement. We do this only at our Roodt-sur-Syre workshop, on Gutmann equipment, to the manufacturer's data. You get the report. More on ADAS calibration.
