A particularly delicate job that requires precision and expertise.
On this model, a rubber seal surrounds the windshield and aluminum trim pieces. Removal therefore requires meticulous cutting in order to preserve these trims, the cost of which can exceed that of the windshield itself!
Mission accomplished: all the aluminum trims were recovered without the slightest damage!

These few photos taken on a BMW show damage that is sometimes invisible to the customer: excess glue between the windshield and the roof, friction marks on the pillars, and a torn headliner.
To avoid this kind of damage, we use protective plates and a specific tool called a Spyder, equipped with a nylon wire that does not heat up like steel wire.
But equipment isn't everything! We monitor the cutting centimeter by centimeter to protect the pillars, trim, and headliner.
In this specific case, as the damage was already present, the team worked with the utmost care to limit further deterioration.

Audi A3 Cabriolet – Rear window peeling away from the soft top?
With our years of experience in automotive glazing, we regularly encounter this issue on certain convertibles, particularly Audi A3, A4 and A5.
The rear window can progressively peel away from the soft top.
The problem is that the recommended solution is usually the complete replacement of the soft top, an intervention that can quickly become very costly.
At Glass4Cars, we can in certain cases offer a repair solution, avoiding the complete replacement of the soft top and thus achieving significant savings.
Attention: this repair is only possible when the detachment is partial and the condition of the soft top and the window allows it. Each case must therefore be examined beforehand.
Our repair method
It is not necessary to remove the rear window.
We start by trying to remove as much residue of the old glue as possible between the window and the soft top.
Both parts are then carefully protected with adhesive tape to precisely delimit the bonding area. This prevents excess glue from overflowing onto the soft top or the glass and guarantees a clean finish.
An adhesion primer is applied to both surfaces before putting the glue back on the concerned area.
Finally, the window is kept under pressure throughout the drying time. In this specific case, we used pieces of polystyrene placed inside the window, allowing regular pressure to be maintained between the glass and the soft top.
This repair requires time, precision and a lot of meticulousness. It is moreover an intervention that few companies specialized in automotive glazing offer, notably because it requires fairly long and particularly careful manual work.
Our objective is to obtain a clean, solid and durable result over time, while avoiding when possible the complete replacement of the soft top.

Our customer wanted a complete paint job for his Porsche 993. To achieve a flawless result, he chose to have the windshield and rear window removed rather than masking the edges.
The goal was also to preserve the original glass :
- Windshield with integrated antenna.
- Rear window with defroster, wiper, and third brake light.
A particularly delicate intervention, as the electrical connections are integrated into the adhesive. It takes an enormous amount of patience, precision, and experience to remove these windows without damaging the wires or the various equipment.
Mission accomplished ! Both windows were successfully salvaged and can be reinstalled once the painting is completed.
This removal also allowed us to discover the beginning of corrosion in the windshield frame. An excellent surprise, as it can be treated before repainting, thus guaranteeing a durable and quality result.

This BMW 3 Series came to our workshop for tinted windows. A more elegant look, but also more comfort for the whole family, especially the children in the back who benefit from better protection against the sun.
A female customer contacted us because the molding around her windshield was no longer staying in place.
At first glance, some might have tried to simply put it back, but with experience, we know that this type of molding only serves as a finish between the glass and the bodywork. Over time, UV rays, and years, it loses its shape and unfortunately no longer holds properly.
For a clean and durable result, the best solution was to remove the windshield without replacing it, in order to put a new finishing molding.
Even though this type of intervention always carries a risk during disassembly, we attempted recovery with method and precision, and mission accomplished.
Small bonus: during disassembly, we discovered a slight water ingress, which explained the moisture present in the vehicle. After removing the old glue and careful reinstallation, everything is now perfectly waterproof.
In the end, the customer keeps her original windshield and makes a nice saving, especially without glass breakage insurance.

A molding that no longer stays in place sometimes hides much more than a simple finishing issue.

On one hand, the replacement of a windshield on a Dacia, carried out outdoors under magnificent sunshine, with always the same quality of service and a fully autonomous van, also capable of vacuuming the vehicle without power access.
On the other hand, a more technical intervention on a Liebherr crane, with a glue finish all around the windshield.
For this type of work, the finish is essential: protection of the bodywork and glazing, precise application of the glue, then using a spatula to obtain a perfect alignment and a very smooth finish once the tape is removed.
It is work that requires experience, precision and above all attention to detail for a clean and neat rendering right up to the finish.
